Rashell Pearce "Sista Apple"

“My name is Rashell Kimone Neisha-yen Brown Pearce and I was born on the 2nd of December 1986 in Lacovia, In the beautiful parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. I first discovered that I could sing at age 3 and I can vividly remember singing “Sweet, Sweet Anointing” for my mommy over the phone but I only started singing professionally at the age of 8 as a Ministry.

One of my greatest influences back then was my mom who became pregnant with me while she was just a teenager. During those early years, we would sing and write many songs together, which helped us to cope significantly with life’s challenges. Back then, we were only privy to radio and cassette players but we still found joy.

As a child, I held tightly to singing like a blanket, as a baby would. I thought of singing as the only thing no one could take from me. I yearned for God’s presence in my life at age 11 and was not hesitant about what I wanted. “Pastor, can you buy me a pair of shoes for church ?” I asked, and this simple yet powerful question changed my life.

It has been 24 years since I made that decision and it has been the best decision of my life.

Currently, I am married to the most wonderful husband and father, Mr. Hubert George Pearce and we have produced three beautiful children: Michellia, Jayron, and Zackery. I work primarily as an Early Childhood Educator for the last 2 1/2 years. I also function in the capacity of Praise and Worship Leader in The Orange Bay Ground of The Truth- Church of God in Hanover, Jamaica.

I believe that being a Minister of songs is something that I was born to do and I’m currently pursuing my dreams while touching lives. I am known for songs such as: “Apple of Thine Eye”, “He Will Make a Way” and ” Mender of my Heart”.
